Description
In Mark: Lessons in Discipleship, Ken Yates argues that there are two keys to understanding the Gospel of Mark. The first is that the Lord offered the kingdom of God to the nation of Israel. That generation rejected the offer, but the kingdom will be given to a future generation of Jews. The second key is the difference between being a believer and being a disciple. All believers will be in the kingdom. Believers who are disciples will be great in that kingdom. The Gospel of Mark is not an evangelistic book, but a book about discipleship.
